PPO report:

The Holland-hydra ebb and flow system has been tested the best by the independentresearch institute for flowerbulbs (PPO) in 2003. This test was about cost price and expenditure at growing tulips.

Conclusions made in this report:

  1. Planting is cheaper than on peatmoss
  2. Less time spending on inhousing and cleaning than on peatmoss
  3. Less labour because of the low weight of the trays
  4. An equal time in the greenhouse as the rootingtime
  5. More rooting than on dead water growing
  6. Better take-up of suplements than on dead water
  7. Recycling recources
  8. Less time spending on harvesting
  9. Saving of transport during cleaning of the trays
  10. Emtying the trays saves time because of the low weight of the trays and only the remains of the roots have to be removed.
